Affordable, flexible degrees to support local agencies
Affordable, flexible degrees to support local agencies
Have you ever wanted to develop your next generation of leaders and felt constrained by the higher education system?
The truth is: Higher education is often expensive and inflexible. Organizations and individuals find these barriers difficult to overcome. As a result, goals are unmet or delayed.
At Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU), we believe that higher education can serve the goals of first responder agencies and its staff, so we have created a partnership model that offers affordable, flexible higher education options.
Across U.S. higher education, the average tuition for a public or private college ranges between $20K-$40K annually.
Students are staying on average within 50 miles of their family and friend, often reducing educational options.
2/3 of millennial employees reported that they would leave their current employer due to a lack of leadership development.
First responder agencies often lack talent development resources to attract, retain, and promote qualified personnel.
Too often first responders lack advanced education and training that enables them to maximize their potential.
Higher education is expensive to pursue, and agencies need affordable options to develop their officers.
IWU has a consistent ethos of financial accountability that influences how we serve students through partnerships.
IWU offers a wide array of marketplace degree options to support the needs of different learners and their professional goals.
IWU has been accredited and in good standing with the Higher Learning Commission since 1966.
IWU offers more than 30 marketplace degree programs across 10 disciplines, including associate and bachelor degrees. Options are available in business, communication, computer science, counseling, criminal justic, liberal arts, psychology, and social work. All programs combine quality online learning with experiential learning opportunities in the students' local environment.
Certain first responders may be eligible to receive credit for prior learning and experiences, including fire academy and EMS training. Speak with a university representative for details.
IWU is committed to providing an affordable pathway to a higher education degree. This commitment is at the heart of the first responder partnership. IWU offers students a predictable, reduced tuition throughout their time in the program.
Options to resource the local agency financially are available. Speak with an IWU representative for additional details.
